This book is super cool.  I had the chance to interview Travis Morgan, the author of “Catch Me If You Know How”, an e-book that teaches basic computer forensics to any level computer user.

Aimed at prevention on an intensely whole new level, this book teaches how to prevent teen suicide, prevent drug addiction, or even boost awareness of cheating spouses.

Edinburgh, Scotland-based whimsical pop trio Emporium, celebrate their 14 years of being together by releasing this compilation of seventeen-songs.  They also added a new track into the mix, entitled The Umbrella Shop.  [Check out the music video here.]

Their vintage-esque sound reminds me of a mix of a more-psychedelic version of The Sea and Cake, with hints of The Catherine Wheel, Pink Floyd and Depeche Mode.

Avid and long-time letter-writer Chris Lucas passed his 60-page book along to me this morning via email, entitled “The Guide to Writing Letters to Celebrities”. The FIRST thing I noticed was that the book was super-easy to read, and explained things simply and effectively.

His self-satisfying, and functionally-systematic approach is sure to be inspiring, even to those who have no desire of writing a letter.  Chris realized the validity of the hand-written letter a long time ago from his personal experiences, and now literally writes the textbook when it comes to understanding this more-authentic communication medium.  In the day and age of electronic nuisances, this author stays strong to ink on paper.

Having recently released their 14-track Mixtape this past Friday the 13th, Jersey-based hip-hop duo ”The Board of Education” step it up this time around, [compared to their EP] with more infectious hooks and grooves that will have you tapping your foot and bobbing your head for close to an hour.  This is definitely worth listening to!

Minneapolis-based artist Keenan Casanova self-released a 9-track album this past October, entitled “Based On a True Story”.  Combining hip-hop, R&B, Pop and Rock is his specialty, and you can hear his California roots shine through in his writing style.

Intentionally recorded in super-duper lo-fidelity, this Michigan-based trio blends the raw sounds of Guided By Voices and [early] Pavement, with similar vocal quality as The Strokes.  

The clever and witty lyrics in their new(er) single “Granola Kids” had me smiling the whole way through, a small example is how they seemed to tastefully pull off rhyming ‘muslim name’ with ‘Kurt Cobain’.. and thennnnnn some. (read for yourself)

These guys are the best, worst-sounding band I’ve heard in a hot minute.
