Swedish Alternative Goth-Punk Rock??  Blending life, madness and controversy?? Whoa..

Strikingly, the custom-coined-genre actually makes fitting sense when I listened to MADNESS OF THE NIGHT’s songs on ReverbNation.

Their official website is super simple, which gives you an idea of the basic aesthetic needed these days when representing your independent project.  

Because most of my readers are artists and musicians, it’ll hit home when I say that this band reminds me of all the bands they claim to resemble: Dead Can Dance, The Sisters of Mercy, New Model Army, Devil Doll, Fields Of The Nephilim.

Give them a shot, you’ll definitely like what you hear..

The combination of beauty, talent, and brains is rarely personified in an individual as young and poised as singer/songwriter Devyn Rose, but in this case there is simply no denying it. 

Born in Mt. Vernon, NY, she began her love of music at a very young age singing in a church choir. By the time she was 16, she moved to Bridgeport, CT and began taking dance lessons at Broadway Dance Center, where she studied all forms of dance including hip-hop, house, jazz, and ballet. Canadian rock-band Big City Supreme have 3 solid songs posted to their Reverbnation site, my favorite of which is Gone For Good. Riff-heavy driven instrumentals with catchy and poppy vocals overlayed, Gone For Good sounds like a great mixture of old Red Hot Chili Peppers and Canadian-rock-band Sum 41. 

As an original rock band based out of Edmonton, Alberta, (Canada), Big City Supreme played their first show only eight days after forming, and continued to rock the Edmonton area for the following year.

Indeed, here at Whisker-a-nogo, we are expecting great things from this group of driven musicians in the months to come. Good high-energy rock is hard to come by these days, and it seems these guys have tapped into a very catchy and hard-to-resist energetic frequency that, hopefully, will continue to grow into a North American tour.
