The straight-forward and energetic music of KEI-SHON-SON is an impressive “Retro” type of rap flow, and every single song is a complete musical experience.

This aggressive form of music creates a one of a kind sound-scape, which is a perfect ground for the vocals to hit sharp and punctual, with heartfelt and smart lyrics about life, and real stories about Work and Love.

The LEL Brothas are notorious for leading a movement.  Based out of Prescott Valley, Arizona, this inseparable trio has more energy than any other hip-hop acts I’ve seen in a while.  These guys left me wanting to know/hear/see more, and help them spread the word about the LEL Nation however I can.

Watch this video: http://youtu.be/1ozsOSoV_wE and see for yourself.

My personal favorite track was “Big Basic (feat. CB5)”. Listen on their ReverbNation page.

For fans of: Ludacris, Black-Eyed Peas, LMFAO

Having recently released their 14-track Mixtape this past Friday the 13th, Jersey-based hip-hop duo The Board of Education” step it up this time around, [compared to their EP] with more infectious hooks and grooves that will have you tapping your foot and bobbing your head for close to an hour.  This is definitely worth listening to!

Check them out on FACEBOOK, TWITTER and YOUTUBE.

My rating: 7.7/10

Here’s my Q/A with Ryan and Darryl, the founding members of TBOE:

Briefly introduce yourself, and the band:

Ryan: I’m Ryan, the other half of the Board of Education, I’m currently a 19 year old business student at Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

Darryl: Guess that makes me Darryl the other other half of The Board…as of right now I am 20 and currently attending community college.

Long Beach based Kei-Shon-Son is the ‘head-quarterback’ of “Tha Sleepwalkers”, who’s aggressive form of gospel-inspired rap blends a sharp electro beat with dark and moody synth melodies, creating a one-of-a-kind soundscape, while exercising a solid rhythm section.  The vocals to hit sharp and punctual, with heartfelt and smart lyrics about real life stories.

The track that stood out to me the most was “Sleep Walking”.  I tip my hat to the attention to detail with the vocal production.  The lyrical direction made it easy to relate to a lot of what was being said, which is a tough task to accomplish normally, but these guys seemed to pull it off tastefully.

[Here’s a short video promo for their album that I thought was unique.]

After listening to the album and getting a sense of all that was going on with The Sleepwalkers, I had to rub my eyes after seeing that the Facebook page had ZERO likes.. this album is absolutely deserving of a solid marketing plan, at the very least! Happy to help spread the word for a fellow Californian with abstract video ideas like this one
