Intentionally recorded in super-duper lo-fidelity, this Michigan-based trio blends the raw sounds of Guided By Voices and [early] Pavement, with similar vocal quality as The Strokes.
The clever and witty lyrics in their new(er) single “Granola Kids” had me smiling the whole way through, a small example is how they seemed to tastefully pull off rhyming ‘muslim name’ with ‘Kurt Cobain’.. and thennnnnn some. (read for yourself)
These guys are the best, worst-sounding band I’ve heard in a hot minute.
