Gone For Days” is a four piece rock band that you simply cannot mistake for anyone else. The unique sounding vocals and hooks of front man Chris Taylor, aggressive guitar playing of Jesse Hatch and the solid backbone of bass and backup vocals from Chris Dickman set you up for the last but certainly not least element, Justin Pacy on the drums.

Their newest single “Guilty Pleasure” was just (deservingly!) added to SiriusXM’s Octane Radio. [Check it out on iTunes by clicking HERE.]

The New-England based rock group originated in 2010 after lead vocalist Chris Taylor had left his current band Vegas Temper. His vision was to pursue a different songwriting direction that was more personal to him as a writer.  (Read the full bio HERE)

I’ve already been on the phone with my friends on the east coast, helping these guys spread the word.

Here’s my interview with Chris Taylor, vocalist for Gone For Days!

Briefly introduce yourself, and the band.

I’m Chris Taylor, vocalist/songwriter for Gone For Days.  Jesse Hatch plays guitar and writes as well.  Christopher Dickman plays the bass, and Justin Pacy plays the drums. Jesse and I met through mutual management and had done some long distance writing when he lived in Nashville with Dickman. Songs sounded good enough for him to uproot and move to New England to form the band. Dickman uprooted shortly thereafter, and then Justin, my old band mate came aboard.

In no particular order, list your top ten inspirations, even if they’re not musical.

The band is comprised of 4 VERY different individuals, but my personal songwriting inspirations range from stupid

Avid and long-time letter-writer Chris Lucas passed his 60-page book along to me this morning via email, entitled “The Guide to Writing Letters to Celebrities”. The FIRST thing I noticed was that the book was super-easy to read, and explained things simply and effectively

(picture insert)

His self-satisfying, and functionally-systematic approach is sure to be inspiring, even to those who have no desire of writing a letter.  Chris realized the validity of the hand-written letter a long time ago from his personal experiences, and now literally writes the textbook when it comes to understanding this more-authentic communication medium.  In the day and age of electronic nuisances, this author stays strong to ink on paper.

I learned that if you order the [$10] book from his website then you’ll also receive over $100 in free goodies. So… support the smart fella and show some love.  Order the book.

I have known this band for many years, and they’re f*cking sweethearts.  More than once, I’ve found myself in Denver hanging with these guys, and their counterpart-comrades The Photo Atlas and The Epilogues, and not wanting to leave!  I’ll just go ahead and say it, I totally want to move to Denver. :)

The new self-produced album from the Colorado-natives, American Volume, showcases their well-rounded ability to write, record and release their own content with no hands in their pockets

If you were to combine the vibe in Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs, with a touch of Cave In’s older-ambient stuff, you are off to the right start; the guitar tone in their heavier tracks isn’t really the heavy you would expect, it’s more like Incubus’ [newest] tone or something resembling Our Lady Peace.  Oh, and I think you’ll agree with me that the accordion in “Stones & Sticks” was a fine choice.

Here’s where you can check out their new video for “Bar Talk
